Jim's task is twofold: he has to avoid the many opponents of the game who are chasing him because they want to retrieve the outfit, and also to save and protect Princess Like her name from them. It was well received by critics and was given a sequel, Earthworm Jim 2, in 1995. The game was appreciated for its smooth, cartoon-like animation and "original" humor. Created by Doug TenNapel and designed by David Perry, the game was released on Sega Genesis in 1994, and then ported to many other video game consoles. Earthworm Jim is a 1994 platform video game developed by Shiny Entertainment and published by Playmates Interactive Entertainment, featuring an earthworm named Jim in the costume of a robot that fights against evil.
